Gidon Kremer and Martha Argerich: Memory of a Concert

“We are not a couple in the traditional sense. And that is exactly what is so paradoxical – a musical couple can become even more intimate with one another than a couple in love.” So describes Gidon Kremer his musical relationship with Martha Argerich, a long-time collaboration between two artists – both acclaimed worldwide as living legends – that has been honoured by several prestigious awards. In 2006 they set out on tour performing solos and duets by Bartók und Schumann. The last of the concert series at Berlin’s Philharmonie was recorded for this film, featuring a rare solo performance by Martha Argerich, while Kremer provides a moving personal commentary.
