Composed while still a student at Warsaw’s High School for Music, Chopin channelled his jaw-dropping virtuosity as a pianist and deep feeling for poetic lyricism into a work of spellbinding beauty. The winner of the XVII International Chopin Piano Competition crowns his sublime Chopin performance with an ideal encore, the slow movement from Beethoven’s “Pathétique” Sonata.
