Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition: Emanuil Ivanov

On his way to the First Prize at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in 2019, Emanuil Ivanov impressed the distinguished jury with performances of music ranging from Bach (arr. Busoni) to Adès. This selection of highlights, however, features his accounts of Liszt's hell-raising Dante Sonata and of Brahms's virtuosic Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel, Op. 24, from the solo rounds, as well as his scintillating performance of Saint-Saëns's Piano Concerto No. 2 from the Grand Finale.
