Alice Sara Ott joins the London Symphony Orchestra and conductor Natalie Stutzmann for this performance – recorded at London's Barbican Hall in November 2022 – of Beethoven's dramatic and virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 3 of 1800. Cast in one of the composer's favourite keys, C minor, the work mixes dark passion with lyricism; a powerful first movement is followed by a sublime Largo and then a rondo finale whose gripping first theme returns between brilliant contrasting episodes, before a thrilling coda brings the work to a close. Ott captures the works many facets here in a performance praised at the time for "playing of enormous grace and delicacy" (Bachtrack) and offers as an encore one of Beethoven's best-loved miniatures, "Für Elise".
