The winner of numerous prizes and a former BBC New Generation Artist, Colombian cellist Santiago Cañón-Valencia already has an enviable career as an international soloist. He joins the Rising Stars series on STAGE+ with this showcase, which immediately demonstrates why he is such demand, as well presenting a discussion of his creative life more broadly, as a painter and photographer as well as cellist and composer. For the musical performances, he is supported by pianist Naoko Sonoda, presenting a varied selection of works from the 20th century as well as one of his own compositions.
