High up in the Swiss alps, the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, led by Hungarian conductor Gábor Tákacs-Nagy, perform a programme of music by Mozart and Brahms. Celebrated piano teacher Sergei Babayan provides the expert touch required to perform Mozart's "Jeunehomme" Piano Concerto, written in honour of skilled pianist, Madame Jenové. Brahms’ Second Symphony marked the beginning of his success as a symphonist. The work is his most joyful and often referred to as his “Pastoral” Symphony. Inspired by his summer spent at the shores of an Austrian lake in 1877, this performance offers lightness and transparency that echoes the environment in which it was composed and where it is brought to life.
