Musical Moment: Albrecht Mayer & Vital Julian Frey – The Baroque Era

Oboist Albrecht Mayer and harpsichordist Julian Frey take the audience on a journey through the Baroque era, exploring works from two masters of the period: Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi. Mayer, who has already dedicated several of his albums to the era, shows off his trademark colourful oboe sound once again in this Musical Moment from the Siemensvilla, displaying his mastery of the instrument, not only in oboe concertos and trio sonatas, but also in famous arias transcribed for oboe d'amore – ideal for showcasing the vocal qualities of his playing.
