Pierre Doyen
Baritone
Belgian baritone Pierre Doyen makes his Royal Opera debut in the 2017/18 Season as Le Dancaïre (Carmen). Doyen studied at the Royal Conservatory of Liège, the Royal College of Music and with the Opera Studio of La Monnaie, Brussels. He has sung for companies including Opéra Royal de Wallonie, La Monnaie, Opera Vlaanderen, Chorégies d’Orange, Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, Monte-Carlo Opera, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Lyon Opera, Opéra Grand Avignon, Anger Nantes Opéra, Tours Opera and Limoges Opera. His repertory includes Mercutio (Roméo et Juliette), Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Escamillo (Carmen), Lescaut and Brétigny (Manon), Eurymaque (Pénélope), Schaunard (La bohème), Marquis d’Obigny (La traviata), Mathisen (Le Prophète), Jupiter (Orphée aux enfers), Bobinet (La Vie parisienne) and Popolani (Barbe-bleue).
