Yuja Wang, Zubin Mehta and the VFO: Rachmaninoff & Berlioz

Yuja Wang continues her celebration of Rachmaninoff in the composer's anniversary year with a performance in Verbier of the blisteringly virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 3. It was the first of the concertos she learned, inspired by listening to Vladimir Horowitz's recording of it with Zubin Mehta, with whom she soon performed it herself. And pianist and conductor are reunited here for a performance guaranteed to thrill, while Mehta and the Verbier Festival Orchestra complete the programme with Berlioz's wildly imaginative Symphonie Fantastique – a work that launched an aesthetic revolution in the concert hall.
