This documentary tells the story of a very special project spearheaded by mezzo soprano Anne Sofie von Otter and violinist Daniel Hope to rediscover and perform the music composed in the Theresienstadt Ghetto, where the prisoners included musicians and composers – part of a cynical public relations initiative by the Nazis. The film includes concert footage as well as first-hand accounts from two musicians who survived: the jazz guitarist Coco Schumann and the pianist Alice Herz-Sommer.
