A New Chopin – Daniil Trifonov & Mikhail Pletnev

In 2017, Daniil Trifonov joined forces with conductor, pianist, composer, and fellow Russian Mikhail Pletnev at the Dortmund Konzerthaus. Together with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, they explore, perform, and record Pletnev’s new reorchestrations of Chopin’s two piano concertos, bringing new dimensions to these fixtures of the Romantic repertoire. Despite their differing personalities, Pletnev’s intellectual grasp of musical language, combined with Trifonov’s talent and touch, make this a musical collaboration of the highest calibre.
