Shortly before Benjamin Bernheim's debut at the Salzburg Festival in its 100th anniversary year, the French tenor performed his programme exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon in the Meistersaal Berlin. In addition to performing Berlioz's cycle Les nuits d'été, Bernheim sings songs by Duparc, Gounod and Hahn and is accompanied by Carrie-Ann Matheson on piano. Hailed by critics as "the great French lyric tenor the opera world craves" (Chicago Tribune), Bernheim shows how much he is at home in his native repertoire. Following his Salzburg debut with the same repertoire, the Süddeutsche Zeitung reported that "he masters the art of the natural - and sings with full risk."
