The Sistine Chapel Choir enjoys international renown not only as the oldest choir in the world, but also as the vocal ensemble with the most beautiful home. The namesake chapel in the palace of Vatican City has attracted believers and art lovers since the 16th century. Performing a programme of works by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, who was himself a member of the chapel in the 1550s, the music was written just a few decades after Michelangelo completed his famous frescoes. Led by Monsignor Palombella, the a capella performance soars under the magnificent ceiling, recreating authentic Renaissance practices in this Easter Day celebration.
