Waldbühne 2003: A Gershwin Night
Concert
Berliner Waldbühne
Production Date: 29/06/2003

On an atmospheric evening in Berlin, a German orchestra and a Japanese conductor come together to celebrate the glories of George Gershwin's musical language. The Berliner Philharmoniker and Seiji Ozawa join the Marcus Roberts Trio to demonstrate to 20,000 spectators how the sounds of the American composer have become musical second nature to them. Alongside the Concert in F and other favourites, Gershwin's suite, An American in Paris, his immortal depiction of the hustle and bustle of the French capital in the 1920s, is an apt choice for this European excursion into the American musical world.
