The Salzburg Mozart Week and its artistic director Rolando Villazón presented a mini sensation at their digitally staged 2021 festival: a piece by Mozart that, though Köchel had included it in his catalogue, had never been performed in public. The manuscript for the Allegro in D major changed hands several times, was considered lost, and was finally offered for sale to the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg in 2018. International experts confirmed that there can be no doubt about Mozart's authorship. Here it is performed, alongside other works by Mozart, by Seong-Jin Cho, who, as Villazón himself says, brings a "tender humanity" to his playing.
