Oksana Lyniv and Alice Sara Ott plunge right into Mozart's 13th Piano Concerto at the start of this Munich Philharmonic programme with an ideal sense of playfulness and alert musicality. Mozart also appears in dialogue with Lyniv's Ukrainian compatriot Valentin Silvestrov in his work The Messanger, which weaves motifs from the Viennese Classical period into a meditative sonic tapestry. To close comes Haydn's 96th Symphony, which owes its nickname, "The Miracle", to an anecdote: at a London performance, the story goes, several in the audience apparently got up from their seats and walked to the stage, thereby saving themselves from a falling chandelier.
