The great American violinist Hilary Hahn was in the middle of a year-long sabbatical away from classical music when the Corona pandemic hit, leading to the cancellation of many more concerts. So this account of Dvořák's Violin Concerto was among the artist's first performances in nearly two years. In an interview, Hahn tells of her realization that she would never again want to give up making music together with colleagues so long a period. The virtuoso performs Dvořák's underappreciated work with corresponding urgency – with lyrical intensity and irresistibly expressive tone. She is accompanied by the Frankfurt Radio Symphony under the direction of its chief conductor, Andrés Orozco-Estrada.
