"Conducting is about sharing music," says Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, who here conducts the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in a concert recorded at the Konzerthaus Dortmund in December 2020. And the music she chose to share on this occasion includes two works by Mieczysław Weinberg, whose long-neglected catalogue she has championed in recent years. The programme opens with his Aria, Op. 9, which is followed by the Schumann Piano Concerto. Soloist Kirill Gerstein stays on stage for the second Weinberg work – his Seventh Symphony, for harpsichord and strings. Orchestra and conductor then bring the concert to an end with Beethoven's Leonore Overture No. 3.
