Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra embark together on one of the greatest musical journeys of all: through Wagner’s four-part operatic epic, Der Ring des Nibelungen. And that journey starts here with Das Rheingold – dubbed the cycle’s “preliminary evening” by Wagner – a polemical critique of corrupted power and greed which lays the foundation for the grand tragedy that follows.
