The Kammerorchester Basel in Bach's Christmas Oratorio (I, II, V & VI)

The virtuoso Kammerochester Basel is joined by the Deutscher Kammerchor and a top line-up of soloists for one of the greatest works celebrating the festive season: Bach's Christmas Oratorio. Filmed in Basel's historic Martinskirche and with the players and singers directed from the Concertmaster's desk by Julia Schröder, the performance featured four of the work's six cantatas and evokes both joy and contemplation, brilliantly capturing the different moods and characters of the different parts while revelling in chamber music-like interplay between the performers. It adds up to a joyous musical occasion guaranteed to raise the spirits.
