No orchestra embodies its city quite like the Wiener Philharmoniker, and no conductor understood the spirit of Vienna better than Willi Boskovsky, who for 24 years made the famous New Year's Day concert his own. In the second part of this magical cinematic guide to Vienna, Boskovsky and the Philharmoniker take the viewer on a visual tour of their city, from the tranquillity of the Vienna Woods to the bustle and splendour of the Ringstrasse. Naturally, it's all accompanied by the music of the Strauss family and their Viennese contemporaries: waltzes, polkas and other favourite melodies, played with authentic – and irresistible – Viennese style.
