Gustav Mahler conducted his compositions here, as did Richard Strauss and Igor Stravinsky. Sergei Rachmaninoff played his piano concertos in the Main Hall. Musicians such as Leonard Bernstein, Vladimir Horowitz and Yehudi Menuhin also gave legendary performances. The Main Hall is still a stage for the world's best orchestras and musicians.
