The New York Philharmonic in Pyongyang

The New York Philharmonic makes history with this unprecedented concert from February 2008, which saw the orchestra and conductor Lorin Maazel perform in North Korea alongside Korean musicians. After the two country's respective national anthems, Maazel conducts a programme of entertaining favourites bringing together European and North American musical traditions, performed with a flair that brought standing ovations from the audience.
