To complement their performances together with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe exploring music by Brahms and Clara and Robert Schumann, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Beatrice Rana come together in a more intimate context for this concert of four-hand piano music. Robert Schumann is represented by his rarely heard Bilder aus Osten and Brahms by his Waltzes, while the fairy-tale vignettes of Ravel's Ma mère l'oye open the programme. To conclude, Nézet-Séguin and Rana turn to Schubert's moving late Fantasie in F minor, one of the towering masterpieces of the four-hand repertoire.
