Daniil Trifonov is "without doubt, the most amazing pianist of our time", according to The Times (London). But perhaps the finest compliment Trifonov received was from Martha Argerich, who said he has "everything and more." At the 2019 Verbier Festival, the Grammy Award-winning musician devotes himself to solo piano works from the 20th century. Trifonov brings his blistering technique and rigorous musical intellect to music by Alban Berg, Béla Bartók, Olivier Messiaen and John Corigliano. The musical journey begins with the Second Viennese School and Berg's Piano Sonata No. 1 and spans the century to Corigliano's Fantasia on an Ostinato for Solo Piano from 1985, with its echoes of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony.
