In 2013, the Berliner Philharmoniker return to the city where the tradition of the annual Europakonzert, founded by Claudio Abbado in 1991, first began: Prague. The concert programme is always tailored to the venues, whose architecture provides an impressive backdrop. This year, the orchestra and audience take their seats in the magnificent Spanish Hall in the Prague Castle. Under the direction of Simon Rattle, experience the music of Ralph Vaughan Williams, Antonín Dvořák and Ludwig van Beethoven. Czech Mezzo-Soprano Magdalena Kožená interprets the Biblical Songs by Dvořák, who taught at the Prague Conservatory. The highlight of the concert is Beethoven's Sixth Symphony.
