Abbado conducts Beethoven: Piano Concerto No.4 - with Maurizio Pollini

Maurizio Pollini and Claudio Abbado shared a close friendship, which found expression not only in their joint music-making, but also through their shared political engagement. Here they come together for a performance of Beethoven's poetic Fourth Piano Concerto, filmed in 2004 at the Lucerne Festival, where the conductor presided over many great performances in the final stage of his career.
