South Korean cellist Jaemin Han first came to international attention as the youngest ever prize-winner of the George Enescu International Competition and here joins our Rising Stars series with a showcase recorded in 2022, when he was still just 16. Han presents a wide-ranging programme – stretching from Chopin's scintillating early Introduction and polonaise brillante to Ligeti's virtuosic Sonata and Mark Summer's improvisatory Julie-O – that displays his flexibility and range, while the accompanying interviews offer insight into his life and inspirations as one of the most exciting cellists of his generation.
