It's a concert that has entered the realms of musical legend: a 26-year-old Gustavo Dudamel conducts the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra in a showcase concert from the newly opened Concert Hall in Caracas. The programme of vibrant South American classics brings out the best in the brilliant young musicians – who, along with Dudamel, were all members of the country's remarkable "El sistema" music education system. The programme is completed with performances by the Venezualan Brass Ensemble of two works composed by members of the ensemble. With the local audience getting irresistibly into the party spirit, the concert celebrates a remarkable group of musicians who went on to take the entire musical world by storm.
