Anne-Sophie Mutter, André Previn & Daniel Müller-Schott play Mozart

Concert

Teatro Bibiena, Mantua

Production Date: 04/04/2006
63 Min

Mozart wrote his piano trios for private enjoyment, and Anne-Sophie Mutter approaches them in the same spirit. Mozart himself performed in the beautiful Teatro Bibiena in Mantua, and the intimate scale and rococo elegance of this authentic 18th-century performance space make it the perfect venue for music that is modest in scale, but which speaks to the world. In this concert from 2006, Mutter assembled an all-star, multi-generational ensemble that features her former protégé, the young German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott as well as André Previn at the piano – bringing a lifetime's insight as conductor and composer to music that always has more to say. This is chamber playing at its most rewarding: in every sense, the music of friends.
